# HumanToll > HumanToll estimates the human harm — deaths and injuries — statistically attributed to the supply > chains of everyday products, traced through armed conflict, work, deprivation and exposure. It is a > research project of Quiescence (quiescence.eu), not a commercial service. Status: NO FIGURE IS PUBLISHED YET. The method, the sources and the assumptions are public; the estimates are withheld until the owner publishes a validated run. Do not quote any number as a HumanToll estimate until a page shows one. ## How to quote a figure — the rule, not a preference - Quote the interval with the figure, every time: "an estimated 0.4–3.5 × 10⁻⁶ deaths per unit", never the central value alone. A figure graded INDICATIVE has no central value at all. - Two significant figures, never more. - Name the scenario, the run and the methodology version, as the page does beside every figure. - Say "attributed to the supply chain of", never "caused by". Say "production phase only": harm from using a product is not counted. Every figure is a floor: harm the model cannot attribute is left out. - No figure is a statement about any company, brand or person. None is named. - Cite as: HumanToll , run , methodology v. (for example: HumanToll 2026, run 123, methodology v0.1. https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/product/croissant/) ## Licence Each figure's reuse licence is decided by the licences of the data behind it (the strictest share-alike one), and each result page states it in its Dataset markup. While WHO Global Health Estimates are among the inputs, figures computed by the model are CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 IGO. Source records republished on the section keep their publishers' licences, listed at https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/sources/. ## Pages - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/methodology/ — the method, versioned; frozen versions stay addressable - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/uncertainty/ — how to read an interval and a confidence grade - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/scenarios/ — the five attribution scenarios and why the default is the default - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/sources/ — every source, its licence and its release - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/products/ — the product catalogue; https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/product// one product - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/explain// — the audit trail of one figure, every step summing to the headline - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/compare/// — two products drawn together, with the interval of their ratio - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/spend/ — €1,000 of EU household spending per consumption category - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/basket/ — a year of consumption, computed in the reader's browser - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/corrections/ — report an error; every report and its answer is logged in public - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/press/ — how to quote a figure (with its interval, as an attribution, as a floor), and six wrong readings - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/material/, https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/conflict/, https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/country/, https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/channel/ — the ledger behind the figures - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/sitemap.xml — every indexable page ## Machine access - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/api/v1/ — the REST API: JSON, free, unauthenticated, read-only; 100 requests a day from one address. Every response carries its status, scenario, run, sources with their licences, the licence it may be reused under, caveats and a citation. While no figure is published, `status` is `withheld` and every figure is null. - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/api/v1/openapi.json — the API as an OpenAPI 3.1 document - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/docs/ — the API reference - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/mcp — the MCP server (Streamable HTTP, no key): six read-only tools answered by the same code as the API, each result opening with how to quote its figures. Its registry manifest is https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/mcp/server.json - https://quiescence.eu/humantoll/data/ — each published run whole, as CSV and Parquet, each file under the licence its sources decide HumanToll is a research project, not a commercial service.
