About this check

Your public IP address is the one every website sees when you connect. A connection only ever uses one address family, so the page makes two extra requests to our own test hosts — ipv4.quiescence.eu has only an IPv4 address, ipv6.quiescence.eu only an IPv6 one — and shows the address each of them saw. No third-party lookup service is involved.

Everything else is read in your browser from standard web APIs (navigator, screen, WebGL, media queries, the Network Information, Battery Status and Storage APIs) and only displayed. The page's script sends none of it anywhere. It mirrors what any site you visit can read without asking — the raw material of browser fingerprinting.

Local addresses are gathered with WebRTC and an empty server list, so no STUN server is contacted. Current browsers usually replace them with a random ".local" name; a real private address such as 192.168.x.x appearing here means your browser exposes it.

Like every request to this site, the two test requests are recorded in our web server's access logs (address, time, browser), as covered by the privacy policy. Analytics run only if you accepted them in the cookie banner. A dash means your browser does not offer that value — privacy-focused browsers deliberately hide or round several of them.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the page show two different IP addresses?

Many connections are dual-stack: your device reaches the internet over IPv4, usually through an address shared by your whole home or office, and over IPv6, where it typically has an address of its own. The page tests each family separately, so you see both.

Why is my IPv6 address shown as unavailable?

Your network or provider does not offer IPv6, or your browser could not reach our IPv6-only test host within a few seconds. Many networks are still IPv4-only, so this is normal.

Does a VPN change what this page shows?

A VPN changes your public addresses and usually the country. Most of the rest — browser, languages, time zone, screen and GPU — stays the same, which is why those values are used to recognise a browser across sites.

Is anything I see here stored?

No. The values are read in your browser and shown on the page; this tool sends nothing back and saves nothing. Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security.
