Namen investicije je zagotovitev zanesljivega rezervnega vira toplote za pripravo tople sanitarne vode (TSV) v primeru izpada oziroma prekinitve dobave energije iz sistema daljinskega ogrevanja. Za ta namen je predvidena izvedba visokotemperaturnega sistema toplotnih črpalk zrak/voda, ki bo omogočal neodvisno pripravo oziroma dogrevanje tople sanitarne vode tudi v času, ko daljinsko ogrevanje ni na voljo ali ne zagotavlja zadostne temperature.
