Cos'è Lo Spoke 8 ha come tematica di ricerca l’ottimizzazione degli usi finali, della sostenibilità e della resilienza nella supply chain dell’energia. Tale tematica rientra in pieno con una delle sfide della Politica Energetica Europea (Energy Efficiency First), quella di trasformare l'Europa in un'economia energetica altamente efficiente e a zero emissioni di CO2, catalizzando una Nuova Rivoluzione Industriale, accelerando il passaggio alla decarbonizzazione e, in un periodo di anni, aumentando drasticamente la quantità di energia locale e a basse emissioni che produciamo e utilizziamo, evidenziando che le fonti di energia rinnovabile sono la chiave del cambiamento.
