Avtalen kan forlenges av oppdragsgiver med 1+1+1 år. Oppdragsgiver forbeholder seg retten til å avlyse konkurransen dersom det foreligger saklig grunn, for eksempel ved bortfall av planlagt finansiering eller manglende godkjenning fra politisk eller militært hold.
