Er is behoefte aan een nieuwe werkplaats op de gemeentewerf aan de Beukenlaan. De bestaande werkplaats wordt gesloopt en de werkzaamheden worden tijdelijk elders ondergebracht in bestaande bebouwing op het terrein. Met de nieuwbouw wordt beoogd een toekomstbestendige, veilige, duurzame en doelmatige werkplaats te realiseren die aansluit op de huidige en toekomstige behoeften van het Stadsbedrijf.
