Aufgrund der hohen Anzahl von geplanten und bereits errichteten und sich in Betrieb befindlichen OWP und Seekabeln ist der nutzbare Raum begrenzt, so dass zunehmend der Rückbau ausgedienter OWP und Kabel bzw. die Nachnutzung von OWP-Flächen und Seekabeltrassen diskutiert wird. Aktuell in Betrieb befindliche OWP haben eine Betriebslaufzeit von 20 bis 25 Jahren, danach sollen sie vollständig zurückgebaut werden. Erfahrungswerte zum naturverträglichen Rückbau fehlen bisher weitgehend bzw. sind begrenzt. Sowohl die technischen Möglichkeiten als auch die damit verbundenen Auswirkungen auf die Meeresnatur sind nur schwer abschätzbar. Das Vorhaben „Rückbau Offshore“ soll anhand von Literatur und Praxisbeispielen einen Überblick geben, welche technischen Entwicklungen und praktisch umsetzbaren Rückbauoptionen, sowohl für Offshore-Windenergieanlagen (OWEA), hier v.a. das Fundament und den Kolkschutz umfassend, als auch für Seekabel und Konverterplattformen, verfügbar und ggf. schon erprobt sind
