Für die Krankenanstalten im Land Vorarlberg wird eine gemeinsame Ethikkommission errichtet. Die Ethikkommission ist eine Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts. Die Ethikkommission ist zur Beurteilung folgender Vorhaben in den Krankenanstalten zuständig: die klinische Prüfung von Arzneimitteln und Medizinprodukten; die Anwendung neuer medizinischer Methoden und die angewandte medizinische Forschung am Menschen. Gefördert wird die Aufwandsentschädigung für die Betriebsführung der Ethikkommission.
