Short Description of Power Supply for SIS100 Radiation Resistant Quadrupole Magnets A new international scientific research centre facility FAIR (Facility for Antiprotons and Ion Research) is under constructed next to the existing GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. FAIR will provide antiproton and ion beams of unprecedented intensity and quality. One of the essential parts of FAIR will be the Heavy Ion Synchrotron (SIS)100. Radiation Resistant Magnets are a component of SIS100 and it requires a power supply system. The current in the magnets must be ramped up to 850 A with an absolute accuracy of 1 x 10-4 *IN. The maximum output voltage is of about 300V. This power converter will be feed by 400 V supply system.
