De opdracht heeft betrekking op het ontwikkelen van een monitoringsmethodiek voor bebossing van gronden in Vlaanderen, als voorbereiding op de toepassing van het Europese Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming Framework (CRCF) binnen een toekomstige vrijwillige koolstofmarkt. De studie richt zich uitsluitend op de CRCF-categorie "bebossing" en niet op andere vormen van carbon farming, permanente koolstofverwijdering of koolstofopslag in materialen. De opdrachtnemer onderzoekt hoe bebossingsprojecten in Vlaanderen op een betrouwbare, kostenefficiënte en schaalbare manier kunnen worden gemonitord zodat de resultaten kunnen worden gebruikt voor Monitoring, Rapportering en Verificatie (MRV) binnen het Europese CRCF-kader.
